Ideally located at the heart of the old town of Lille, A l’Huîtrière is probably one of the oldest restaurants of this very pretty town.
As a matter of fact, it was created in 1908 by Pierre Bailleul, the great grandfather of the present owner... The décor is all in light wood, the armchairs are beautiful and all that is well appreciated by regulars. You will find nice mosaics in the dining rooms. And in this peaceful atmosphere, far away from the noise and bustle of the city, you will be able to enjoy the Chef’s cuisine. It is classic when it comes to cooking times, respect of flavours and of products. But it is also creative as the menu changing four times a year will prove, it changes according to the season, according to what the Chef finds, to the market too. Nowadays you find the fourth generation of owners in charge, and this old establishment constantly gets new life, it is a page of Lille history, a monument of cuisine, a masterpiece when it comes to decorative arts. It is just perfect for a romantic dinner, and the private dining rooms can also be used for a business lunch, a meeting, a family banquet.
The nicest fish, oysters, shellfish from the best origins, they all reach the fish monger’s in the morning, and then get directly to the kitchen, with its classic yet creative spirit. The Chef has composed an ideal gourmet menu, adapting to the customer’s wishes and the products of the market, it will be a pleasure for your eyes and your taste buds, for everybody’s greatest pleasure in this historic institution.
An ideal gourmet favourite!
