All ingredients are here to create an exceptional place : exceptional settings, a love story, passion between the owner and this unique place, and a lot of talent. This house is located on the heights behind Cagnes and it became Josy-Jo in 1970, when an exceptionally ambitious woman was in charge, Marie-José Bandecchi, also called Josy. What did she want to do with the place? Well, she wanted to create a friendly place and that despite the place’s prestigious past, home to Modigliano and Soutine among others. The dining room is sober and elegant, decorated with some nice regional touches, like the adorable olive trees. At the heart of the dining room you will find the charcoal grill where meats have been well prepared for 30 years now. A lot of personality. The cuisine at Josy-Jo’s is clearly from the South. Josy has looked to her own history to find inspiration and please her guests during all this time. This inventive Chef learnt her trade herself, she is passionate about it and she has managed to find her style with a refined Mediterranean cuisine, adding personal accents to classics. The words are simple, the products are from the region and the presentation is delicate, just like in the best restaurants in the country. A nice way to get to know Southern cuisine, you will most certainly be charmed. Josy says it herself, when you come in once you are almost certain to come back, alone, with your family or with friends. Joie de vivre and happy moods are the key here, with refined cuisine from the South to go with it. That is what ideal gourmet remembers of this magical place, full of emotions and history.
