In Barbizon, at the heart of Seine et Marne and close to Fontainebleau, restaurant Les Pléiades* welcomes regulars and gourmets who are just passing by.
Less than an hour away from Paris you will notice a complete change of scenery. This pretty little town is located close to the forest, and it has got that little something making a village particularly charming: church, market place, buildings and people that are both typical and non typical, combined with of course the famous painters’ village, which is where the restaurant is located. Les Pléiades* is a part of the town’s history. Before the war, it was the establishment of choice for a number of artists and during the 60’s it was there for locals’ greatest pleasure, feeding them for lunch and dinner. In 2005, the restaurant decides on a renovation, getting a new image, a new décor. A large and welcoming dining room opening up to a terrace, a salon that can be privatized, this is a perfect space for business meals, banquets and romantic dinners. Vivid blue, wood and fabric play an important part in the décor, giving the place unique authenticity and warmth. In this sweet little cocoon, Chef Philippe Geneletti who learnt his trade with Mr Loiseau among others, offers a new and original type of cuisine. His secret: having fun and daring! He wants to offers imaginative cuisine, it has to be playful and visual. The plates here are really created for all senses, they are a show in themselves. Philippe Geneletti offers a combination of flavours and scents, he takes risks for seated guests’ greatest pleasure. With the ideal gourmet tasting menu, the Chef offers a journey to the heart of tastes, colours and scents. Between childhood memories, journeys, exoticism, his cuisine is truly happy, with some humorous touches to it.
A touch of happiness, that you can enjoy anytime!
