Under the arched passageway of the Cité des Antiquaires in L’Isle sur la Sorgue, this address is full of charms. In this mansion dating back to the 17th century, Séverine Alloin has imagined five rooms, as so many tributes to the crafts of past times. The river flowing in the restaurant brings an unexpected touch of quiet to this décor of stone, bringing out the beauty of Jean-Marie Alloin’s cuisine. Behind the church, a former convent used to be the residence of the village’s provost. A calm little island in the middle of pedestrian streets, with a courtyard in the shade where it is always nice to make a refreshing stop.
This small and charming restaurant is going through renewals since Jean-Marie Alloin and his wife took over the establishment in 2004. A classic cuisine is prepared here, full of sunshine, with deep roots in the Provence region, mixing products from the land with products from the sea. The Chef was born in Belley, region of Brillat-Savarin, and he owes his call as a Chef to his uncle René, a well known Chef in Marseille…
One could say that our Chef’s motto, as far as cuisine is concerned, can be told in three words: innovation, research, tradition. Jean-Marie Alloin’s reputation is growing by the day.
For a different kind of trip, away from the world, where only pleasure counts, we have specially composed the ideal gourmet menu, a journey through the Chef’s favourite flavours and compositions. Enjoy!
