If the traditional féria is at the heart of this beautiful town of Nîmes, with its well defined personality and burning sun, Le Lisita is located across the street from the famous arenas and has changed a lot in the last few years – the changes were most welcome.
The restaurant was created by Mr Lisita about a century ago, and it has kept its role, leading the cuisine landscape of the region, so much so that it is today somewhat of a local institution.
Stéphane Debaille and Olivier Douet are very conscious of the place’s history and while respecting it, they are continuously transforming it, making it more beautiful, improving the quality of the cuisine and the service.
Stéphane is originally from the region. He is in charge of the welcome and service, and does a remarkable job, while also managing to be a talented sommelier for a much envied wine cellar.
Olivier Douet, member of the Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe association, taught by the greatest, from Loiseau to Saulieu not forgetting the Roux brothers of the unmissable Gavroche in London, is in charge of the cuisine aspects and is brilliant at it!
The important values of this beautiful establishment are respected, and you will find professionalism with no flaws in the large building.
The place is well kept, the decoration sober and the Lisita opens the doors to a world with a personality revolving around bull fights, of which the city is very proud. You will also be able to enjoy the amazing terrace, according to the season or to your mood, terrace with a view to the mythical arenas. A green patio, private dining rooms, a splendid main dining room, classic and modern at the same time, with rich and subdued tones, the tone is given for a place of exception.
Olivier is very good when it comes to Provence traditions, he if anyone knows how to compose, how to be creative. The restaurant recently got a star in the Michelin guide and it is probable that it will now count among the “grandes tables” of the region.
For a regional stop in the purest féria tradition, and for a cuisine of great quality, you will be happy to stop in this new atmosphere tastefully created by Stéphane and Olivier who each know how to bring their guests a most welcome perfection.
