Located in an old traditional house dating back to the Middle Ages, former home to the Earls of Villeneuve, the Relais des Moines is an unmissable gourmet stop.
Ideally situated in a beautiful region, you will discover right close to a forest of pine trees this pretty stone house. Right from the beginning, with a welcoming sitting room and smiling personel, you will feel at home and be delighted to be led to a table. The décor is enchanting: walls and stone archways in perfect contrast to the red carpet and the tables in light colours, giving a certain dignity to the place, along with a cosy feeling. The fireplace where there is always a fire in the wintertime, the song of cicadas in the summer can only add to the warmth of this establishment, especially if you are lucky enough to get a table on the very nice terrace.
And your pleasure at being here will reach a peak when the food comes on the table... the dishes are very delicately prepared, your tastebuds will be delighted ; your look will invariably at that moment turn to the partly open kitchen, to try and get a glimpse of the artist who created this cascade of flavours...
Sébastien Sanjou, very talented young chef, was taught by the best, Willer in Cannes, Ibarbour in Guéthary, Labarère in Tarbes and he distinguished himself by owning his own place at only 22. Truffles are his specialty, and he composes a cuisine that is surprisingly refined, necessary for tasting this noble mushroom.
The Chef and ideal gourmet have composed a menu especially for you, for your greatest pleasure...
you’d better come here fast before the rumour gets around and brings all Michelin-fans to the Relais des Moines!
