What if we took a trip out to the country, or even better than that, let’s go to an island!
Born from a love story, the Chalet des Iles was brought back from Switzerland by Napoleon 3d, as a gift to his beloved empress Eugénie...
The emperor was bold enough to completely deconstruct this chalet, much appreciated by the empress, only to rebuild it on the lower lake of the Bois de Boulogne.
The place has been carefully renovated and tastefully decorated, and it is most certainly a healthy change of scenery for city dwellers. You will take the little boat and cross the lake in two minutes, surrounded by ducks. You will find yourself on a green island, amongst the island’s inhabitants, the peacocks! The place is really full of flavours. You will experience a day in the country, for each and every season finds its place in this charming décor. On the terrace in the summertime, you will hear the birds sing while you will have eyes only for the nature surrounding you! By the fireplace in the winter, the cosy atmosphere reminds of the mountains and the chalet will find its way back to its primary functions, with large couches and tables decorated in warm colours.
And here is the Chef, Stéphane Trouillard, who composes his cuisine according to the seasons, for isn’t nature everywhere to be felt around here? He adapts, orchestrates, according to the flavours of the moment, a cuisine of very high quality. He knows how to compose lightly in the spring, and show the warm colours of falling leaves in the fall. A table of quality in a magnificent place.
Dare the Chalet, dare a surprise !
