TTake a master of British design, with a very sober and sure taste, add a French Chef with a direct and well known talent, give a new life to a magical place in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and you will have the three ingredients of the Alcazar’s new show, written, directed and produced by Sir Terence Conran.

The Alcazar used to be a room for ballgames in the 17th century, a printer’s shop in the 18th century and then a famous cabaret, with Jean-Marie Rivière at its head. Since a few time back, the Alcazar is the place to be on Paris’ Rive Gauche.

On the mezzanine the lighting is soft and the cushions coloured for the bar and the private lounge, completely surrounded by glass walls. The atmosphere is subdued, with candles, there is a DJ for the music, a giant screen, video creation... The Alcazar at night is a well brought up place for nice customers.

Michel Besmond and the Chef, Guillaume Lutard, have managed miracles in this elegant and well decorated place.
One of them will take you under a glass roof, 12 meters high where 220 seats with a view to the kitchens await you.
The other one, who used to work at Taillevent’s is fully capable to cook for 300 people at an excellent level. The cuisine mixes regional flavours with sweet and sour mixes, like in the tuna-avocado millefeuille.
