In the heart of the Roanne region, dominating 238 hectares of land, this building is full of personality with its blond stones and it has changed to the better over time. From the 14th Century we can still see the servants’ quarters, around the interior courtyard; during the 16th, two round towers and a little chapel hidden under the trees were added to the domain; during the 17th, the Baron de la Berthelière decided to restore the place and decorated it with paintings that are still to be seen today in the restaurant’s dining room; during the 18th Century at last, the square tower and the gallery are added, giving the place the silhouette we can still see today. For 10 years now the new “lords” of the castle, Véronique and Olivier Boizet, have tried to give the monument some of its prestige back. The dining room has got incredibly high ceilings and your art-loving gaze can rest on the paintings dating back a long time, or on the traditional fire place and wooden floor.
