Very close to the 17th district Town Hall, in a rather posh residential neighbourhood, a Mauritian couple had the excellent idea of opening up L’Ile Maurice, a colourful haven that is really the place to stop for those who like Mauritian food, or those who miss its clear blue waters and savoir vivre!
To start on a positive note, and that is not to be forgotten in such a neighbourhood, there is a free car park close by (2 hours free parking). Then you enter an adorable and pretty dining room, it is comfortable and you feel immediately at ease here, you will be welcomed with a smile by the owners who have taken some of their island’s warmth to Paris with them. The décor is Creole, giving the place a certain original touch, inviting you on a journey. As for the cuisine, those who like spicy flavours will be delighted! The Chef mixes Creole and Indian flavours, offering subtle dishes, a mirror of what you would actually find on your plate in the best restaurants in Ile Maurice. No worries for those gourmets who have a sensitive palate, the really spicy sauce comes only upon demand.
The ideal gourmet menu offers you an excellent choice between the place’s specialties, from drinks to dessert, typical dishes follow each other for everyone’s greatest pleasure, and at a very nice price too!
