Famous for its steel and fabric industries, St Chamond used to be a guard post for one of the five aqueducts leading to the Roman town of Lugdunum (Lyon).
Located between Lyon and St Etienne, this charming town hides a famous establishment, Les Ambassadeurs.
It was recently taken over by Julien and Célia Thomasson, and the establishment is about to experience a second youth. 16 traditional rooms compose this pretty Inn, and a gourmet restaurant of good quality has seen its reputation grow in the region. Nice dining room with classic and elegant décor, beautiful table cloths and really nicely set tables. A private dining room is available for receptions and seminars. Les Ambassadeurs remains the restaurant of reference for gourmets in the region. It is rather logical since it is at the hands of expert hands. Célia went to hotel and restaurant school in Grenoble and she specialized in wine, buying it and giving guests precious advice. She is charming and attentive to all the guests’ wishes. As for the cuisine, here you will find a sparkling young Chef, Julien Thomasson, who used to work at Ferme de la Lande in Sologne. He was recently named Gault Millau Young Talent, and he composes his own cuisine here, his talents are free. This is a cuisine that is full of flavours, made from quality products, seasonal too, inventive and creative dishes. We can note nicely decorated plates as well, a perfect mix with Célia’s selections for your glass. The ideal gourmet menu is a tribute to the Chef’s best compositions, according to guests’ preferences and seasonal dishes.
For a convincing adventure, try Les Ambassadeurs, you will no doubt come back!
