This is a mythical place in Bordeaux and le Chapon Fin now enjoys a second youth with the arrival of Jean Michel Cazes at its head.
So please come discover or rediscover this address where history and gourmet cuisine are one.
The décor itself is a true work of art. It is a very spectacular décor and the star of the place is no doubt the rock wall, created in 1901 by Alfred Duprat. It is true Nouvelle Epoque style, and it is a show in itself. The dining room is very baroque, with big lights, vivid colours, and a sense of detail that you will only find in great establishments. A pure pleasure for your eyes, that goes with pure delight for your taste buds.
Nicolas Frion’s cuisine has really given some its former prestige back to this place. It used to be the place to be in town, but it lost some of its prestige after a close down in 1989. But that is now history... The establishment can count on the rich and famous once more, and our President often dines there... That is not really a surprise when you taste the marvels of refinement created by our Chef, former pupil of Marx and Bocuse. He is rigorous and precise, and very curious and daring. He selects the very best fish from the estuary, the best organic vegetables from the markets, or the best meat in the region. His work has got solid classic bases to it, but he gets his inspiration from elsewhere as well, his heart and talent get their voices heard too. His cuisine really deserves all types of rewards, and he is probably on his way to a number of stars...
Ideal gourmet is really proud to present this little gourmet gem. Thanks to an exclusive menu, you will be able to taste the best specialties of the place, according to the season and the market. Luxury, awakening of the senses...
An ideal gourmet favourite!
