Opened in 1938, the Mac Mahon movie theater has been the place to go for movie lovers ever since, it is one of the most famous places to see classic films.
It was here that Parisians discovered all the American movies they had been deprived of during the war, after the city was liberated.
A movement called “mac-mahonism” was even started, all passionate movie goers seen at this cinema joined it. The theatre now continues to program “nostalgic” movies, replaying old Hollywood classics. Not so long ago, the repertoire widened, and you can now see classics here, films for an elderly audience, other ones for kids.
The Mac Mahon has two kinds of activities nowadays: showing classics and organising previews, meetings, debates, during the week.
This is an original place to have a conference, meeting, seminar, preview, or private party.
The prestigious room has 135 seats and is equipped with the latest technology. The reception area is entirely renovated, offering privileged settings for your cocktail parties.
When huge cinemas are the rule, this little movie theatre close to l’Etoile will certainly confirm what Maréchal Mac Mahon himself said: “I’m here to stay”!
