For all those who like history and grande cuisine: the restaurant Les Templiers is inviting you to taste a delicious menu in an authentic commanderie dating back to the 18th century. Here you are not far from the best of French gourmet cuisine…
Annie and Jean-Luc Madec found the Commanderie de la Villedieu not far from Paris… its founding dates all the way back to 1180. Going from the Knights Templar over to the Knights of Saint Jean de Jérusalem, the Commanderie was later placed under the command of Louviers Vaumion until 1789 and was then sold as national building in 1792. And you will have the privilege of enjoying a unique gourmet moment in this imposing historic monument. The dining room is really a peaceful haven, bathing in light and with an impressive height. Light wood, visible stones are there to allow you to admire works by modern sculptors and painters that you will no doubt find beautiful in this gem of modernity and design. And that is precisely what is so original in this establishment, successfully mixing the historic aspects of the building and a very trendy decorative style. On the outside the terrace is overlooking a pond, with 100 seats whereof 60 under a roof, heated in spring and fall. Whatever the weather, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of this very special place.
