The neighbourhood around St Lazare is changing a lot these days, and it is lucky enough to have all the advantages a business man might be looking for, or a tourist for that matter: big banks, insurance companies, the largest department stores in the world and a series of smaller ones, Fnac among them.
A splendid ship is anchored in the middle of all this: the hotel Concorde St Lazare****. This is a gem dating back to the 19th century, where a lot has been going on, there was once a giant rôtisserie there, this is a place with a large part of history to it, while keeping the specificities of its original architecture. Take the lobby for instance, it is a historic monument, a little gem of the time, now re-gilded and magnified by an exclusive design, prune and dark green colours dominating, lamps gilded with gold powder. No less than 12 private rooms are available for receptions, among which the Baccarat and Champagne dining rooms. And it is in this exceptional place that you will find Café Terminus. Between brasserie and chic bistrot, the atmosphere is really based on a pure 1900 style, designed by Sonia Rykiel. As for the cuisine, it is not a café, not a brasserie and that is rather a good thing. It is a birthplace for new gourmet flavours, well presented and original. We owe it to a Chef, Guy Pommelet, who knows how to create new things, how to listen to a customer.
The service is perfectly orchestrated by an excellent team, traditions and welcome are important in this place...
