Located about a hundred kilometres from Paris the charming city of Montargis, at the border between Loing, Puiseaux and Vernisson, is the natural capital of its region.
The Briare canal runs through it and you will often come across a bridge here, so some people used that as a tourist slogan: Montargis, the Venice of the Gâtinais region. You will find a most welcome stop in the heart of town, la Gloire. That is a large building where you will find a three star hotel with 10 rooms that are comfortable, decorated differently and very well kept. As for the restaurant it is famous in the region and is without a doubt a local gourmet embassy. We owe that to Véronique and Jean Claude Martin who dedicated their passion of welcoming guests to la Gloire. The Chef and owner is Maitre Cuisinier de France and he composes a subtle, generous and innovative cuisine respecting traditions that he learnt from big restaurants where he learnt his trade. The dining room is very nicely decorated, nice table cloths and crockery and just like the town of Montargis the restaurant is flowery all year. The dining room is light and pleasant. And for those who have a sweet tooth there is a real caravan of desserts awaiting you. Véronique is the one who is charge of service in the elegant air conditioned dining room, she will care for you at every moment of your meal. The gourmet menu composed by the Chef for ideal gourmet is composed of local specialties but also of what the market has to offer.
